Meet Jeramy
Jeramy Hing is a software engineer by profession, but his life’s work has always centered on serving people and building bridges. For eight years, he and his wife dedicated themselves to mission work across Latin America, improving lives through education, community development, construction projects, and disaster relief.
Their commitment to service continued upon returning to the U.S., where they co-founded a nonprofit supporting survivors of human trafficking. Through restorative mentoring, counseling, and intake services, they carried forward the same mission of compassion and empowerment within their own community.
Jeramy’s roots in Lapeer run deep. His wife was born and raised in the city, and he moved there as a teenager, graduating from the local high school. After years of service abroad, they chose to return and raise their family in Lapeer, believing in the city’s potential. Since moving back in 2019, Jeramy has experienced firsthand the challenges facing many neighborhoods; from unfinished infrastructure to unresolved environmental issues.
Although Jeramy does not come from a political background, his extensive experience in cross-cultural leadership, community coordination, and grassroots problem-solving has shaped him into a steady and principled advocate. He values integrity, transparency, and meaningful relationships — and understands the importance of listening deeply and acting with purpose.
As mayor, Jeramy Hing is committed to restoring trust in local government, ensuring it honors the promises it makes, and putting the needs of Lapeer’s citizens first.
